Fog/Frost Cont'd...

"frosted over" (Nikon D70s)

"lone tree" (Nikon D70s)

"frosty trees" (Nikon D70s)

"frosted farm" (Nikon D70s)

We pulled over to the side of the road and took in the bizarre weather!

Post Christmas....

"frosted weeper" (Nikon D70s)

"frosted weeper up close" (Nikon D70s)

Boxing Day we woke up to find a very strange mix of weather. There was frost everywhere but there was also a layer of fog that had started to roll in. We had never seen anything like this before so naturally we took a few pics. along the route home.

Christmas 2007

"christmas 2007" (Nikon D70s w/Nikon SB600)

We went for the "photo op." route this year for our Christmas card. I set us up and away we went!

....flash cont'd

"willow still curious" (Nikon D70s w/Nikon SB600)

Willow continued to be the subject of choice for my first night with the flash!
Yes, it's true, she does have "little devil" written on her head!

Flash is in Bloom!

"willow sits pretty" (Nikon D70s w/ Nikon SB600)

Mama got a brand new flash! From the time of my last post, I decided to finally enhance my kit and purchase a proper flash. What a difference! While I continue to explore its functions and possibilities, here is what happened the night I got it......now if I could just get her to sit still!

Chillaxin'

"taking it easy" (Nikon D70s)

On to the Gorrillas. I find I am always drawn into their eyes and this picture, despite his position, has me doing just that!

Back At the Zoo

"green dragon" (Nikon D70s)
A green friend!

"mom watches the crowd" (Nikon D70s)

Since I haven't posted any updates in a while, I thought I would include a couple of new ones tonight. These are more photos from the zoo, and it's inhabitants. Some of the most interesting characters you'll ever meet!

Chasing Butterflies

"indo-malayan butterfly" (Nikon D70s)

I was at the zoo a while back again and found myself chasing butterflies in the Indo-Malayan Woods! They were tough little guys to capture but when they finally settled down, I managed to catch this photo.

Kilarney

"after the storm" (Nikon D70s)

I was in Kilarney over the long weekend and it sure was nice to get away! With fresh air, came refreshing clear water and a complete detachment from the city. I have posted one of my favourite photos here.......the rest can be seen through my Flickr page.

If Trees could talk.....

"if trees could talk" (Nikon D70s)

If trees could talk....they probably would if they didn't have moss stuck in their mouthes!!

Sitting...

"sitting still" (Nikon D70s)

I have had a couple of outings over the past little while that have presented some great photo opportunities. This photo is from the 6 Mile Lake marina where for a change, life was very still!

Peek-A-Boo

"eyes on the camera" (Nikon D70s)

Amelie certainly has an eye for the camera and wasn't shy around the lens! She's definitely camera friendly!

Uncle Eric and Amelie

"uncle eric & amelie" (Nikon D70s)

Uncle Eric and Amelie got some fun time in too. She was a very happy girl in the park and I think she had fun watching Meadow play with all of the other pups.

Up and Running Again

"meadow smiles" (Nikon D70s)

After some unfortunate down time, and a little lost inspiration I had an opportunity this past weekend to get out and about! Naturally, with camera in hand I got right back into it. With a visit to the dog park with Meadow and her family, I think she truly enjoyed herself!

Since I have not posted in quite some time, I will post a few other photos to make up for lost time!

Fatherhood....

"fatherhood" (Nikon D70s)

While I can't tell you what Fatherhood is like personally, I can certainly share with you what I see. My brother became a father late in the summer and it has definitely been an amazing transition. Sometimes I still can't believe that my "big brother" is now a Father. While we had some crazy times as kids, I see that he has definitely become something wonderful.

On another note, I have entered a Conde Nast Traveller photo competition which requires votes! All support is appreciated! You can check out one of the photos I've entered here. Thanks very much!
