not so bald....

"heads up high" (Nikon D70s)

Finally, our friend the Bald Eagle. This one, born in 1981 still looks great!

under the sea...

"fish city" (Nikon D70s)

This was a wall to wall aquarium that was incredible. There were so many fish....so much to look at!

the other side of the glass...

"on the inside" (Nikon D70s)

While the mom orangutan looks like she has a large grin on her face, it came out as a somewhat sad picture to me. Sad because of the obvious glass barrier (thanks to those reflections!) that surround her.

Zootography

"deep in thought" (Nikon D70s)

I am still trying to get a process together for preparing my pictures and I find that it takes a little more time than I had originally thought. But it's worth it when you get just the right photo to share! Sooo...I was at the zoo on the weekend for what turned out to be a great photo opportunity. Since I have not posted pics. in a few days, I thought I would post a couple tonight to make up for that. Starting with this one, of a baby orangutan..........

Early to Rise....

"misty morning" (Nikon CP5400)

So this weekend was a bit of a bust for me............I had such high hopes of getting out and about with my camera. Unfortunately it poured rain for most of the weekend and because I don't have proper gear for that kind of weather, I decided not to risk going out there!! For this posting, I thought I would pick one of my favourites from the Summer.

My Pal...

"rudy" (dad's Minolta...heh..)

This is probably one of my favourite pictures taken of my pal Rudy. It was captured some time ago with my Dad's Minolta Film SLR. There are plenty of photos of this little guy especially since he works so well with the camera!

In the Water too..

"flush" (Nikon D70s)

So not all pets are furry.......we can't forget our friends under water too!! This is Flush. I upgraded my camera this week and had some fun getting to know both the camera and our aquatic friend!

A Pal Indeed....

"winston" (Nikon CP5400)

This past weekend was another busy one. I attended the Henry's digital imaging show which was great. Great for anyone in the market for a new camera.....like me!! Unfortunately having been away from my computer, I was unable to edit and post any photos. So, continuing from where I left off, above is another one of my favourite pictures of a furry pal. This is Winston.

Cuddly Friends...

"meadow" (Nikon CP5400)

One of my favourite subjects to photograph is animals! I thought I would put up a series of some of my four legged friends starting with this one.

The Big Picture...

"life intertwined" (Nikon CP5400)

In my previous post, I set up only a sample of roots from this one tree. This picture is that tree in all its glory.......not even a tree's life is simple!

Twisted..

"knotted roots" (Nikon CP5400)

This weekend, being Thanksgiving, I was on the road to the country! I spent some time with my family at the Elora Gorge which was a great photo opportunity. While the picture above is only a segment of roots, this tree had a twisted maze of roots all around it. It was quite the sight!

Feeding Time...

"let me in" (Nikon CP5400)

Getting up close and personal with cows is quite entertaining. They are such curious animals and will stare you down until they know it's safe to come close. Once you get one cow over, you end up with a family!

Painting the Sky..

"sundance" (Nikon CP5400)

I wanted to share another photo from this past weekend. It was incredible to see the sun light up the sky and melt away all of the fog. Before the sun rose, we were thick in haze but it was quite the spectacle!

Early Morning..

"sunrise by the fence" (Nikon CP5400)

I was out of town this weekend hence having missed a couple of picture postings. However, I had some great photo opportunities that were rather inspiring. Tonight's pic. is actually a picture that was taken very early this morning..........sunrise with the mist rolling out.
