Good Eats....

"red potatoes" (Nikon D70s)

Food is something that I think has great potential in photography. While some people do specialize in the art, I find I have a consistent twitch towards it. I have considered taking a course in Food Photography which I think would be a lot of fun. It would be great to drop all food photography "templates" and experiment with something new..............something fresh perhaps? Tonight's photo is of some good ol' potatoes on their way to the boiling point!

Sweet Sounds...

"grandpa's radio" (Nikon D70s)

If there was one thing you couldn't live without, what would it be? Well, for me, aside from my toothbrush (yes, i know i'm a geek), I couldn't go long without music. There's always a tune or a song that fits your mood regardless of when or where you are. The picture tonight is of an old radio that is pretty significant within my family. Once those tubes heat up, your heart and ears are soon to follow!

Flowers in Snow

"stargazing on ice" (Nikon D70s)

I had another great weekend for photos and feel that I am becoming more and more comfortable with my camera. I have been taking simple objects to photograph and exploring the many options my camera has to offer. We had some great sunshine and a fluffy snowfall over the weekend so I took full advantage of it! I look forward to those May flowers and thought I'd have some fun with the flowers I happened to have on hand!

All Things Tropical

"the jetty" (Nikon CP5400)

What I would give to be back on this beach.........swimming in this body of water!! Though this picture is depressing to look at (especially with this crappy city weather), it's one of my favourites. If you stare at it long enough, it might just take you there!!

"They Do"

"a magical dance" (Nikon CP5400)

Over the past couple of years, I have been to more weddings than I can count! It's been great in the sense that each one has been so very different from the other. I will be attending the wedding of a good friend of mine come February and I have been thinking a lot about the kinds of pictures I will take. The pictures I put together tonight are two I took at a wedding I was at last Summer for another good friend. I was experimenting with some of the different settings on my camera and was quite pleased with the end results. There is something very whimsical about these images.........and something that draws you into the excitement of this great celebration!!

A Mild Winter?

"winter stream" (Nikon D70s)

8 degrees in January.....who would have thought!?? I sure hope this doesn't mean we are going to get snow in the middle of April!! I thought tonight's picture was appropriate......a nice, slightly melted streamline!

Wanted: More Snowy Days

"the old fence" (Nikon D70s)

I was out and about taking pictures this past weekend which was nice. While there was snow on the ground, it was starting to disappear. This to me, was a little depressing. I snapped this picture of a fence line slowly losing its snow coverage. Hours later, we received that extra lump of snow I had been hoping for!!

Before Bed..

"bubbles in a cup" Nikon D70s

Last night when I finally put my head down to sleep I reached over to turn out my bedside light. I looked down at my cup of water and was amazed at all the bubbles!! I had to capture them! I did mention how much I love the look of water droplets, didn't I??
